2009 TFTSN Scholars
Each year, The First Tee of Southern Nevada awards four year scholarships for higher education to young people who have participated in our programming. In conjunction with the Nevada Community Foundation, who administers the awards, TFTSN Scholarship Committee selected four well deserving young people as our 2009 TFTSN Scholars. Each of these recipients will receive an $8,000 Scholarship ($2,000 per year for four (4) years).
They are:
Brittany Radke – The Pettyjohn/McCrary Scholarship
Jordan Sala – The Mike Maddux Scholarship
Megan Scharf – The Jim Colbert Scholarship
Margot Potter – The Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club Scholarship

37 First Tee Members represent Southern NV
It is with pride we announce The First Tee of Southern Nevada 2009 Travel Team members!
Twelve of these junior golfers earned their right, through competing in our 2009 SNJGA Jr. Golf Tour, to represent Southern Nevada at some of the most prestigious competitive golf events in the Western United States. That’s not all! In conjunction with the Valley View Golf Club, 25 members of TFTSN who are also members of Valley View, have the opportunity to play in the Western States Junior Golf Tournament.

A.J. & Jennifer dominate at Toyota Tour Cup
A.J. McInerney took the 1st Place out of 72 players at the Toyota Tour Cup, which was held in Carlton Oaks, CA on February 21-22.
Jennifer Hahn took the 1st Place out of 48 players at the Toyota Tour Cup, which was held at PGA West Nicolas and Stadium Course, CA on March 28-29.

Ryan & Jordan Green competed in the IJGT tournament at Tahquitz Creek in Palm Springs, California February 6-8, 2009.
Ryan shot 64 - 73 to finish 3rd in the Boys 16-19 year old division on the 6815 yard par 72 course
Jordan shot 90 -75 to finish tied 7th in the 13-15 year old division on the 6815 yard par 72 course

Van & Zane at Santa Catalina Island
Congratulations to Zane and Van Thomas! They competed in the 42nd Annual Santa Catalina Island Championship at Catalina Island Golf Course, par 64, on April 18-19. Out of 92 players Van won 1st place with a 68 and Zane won 2nd place with a 62.
