How do I play in SNJGA Tour Tournaments?
Click on SNJGA Tour Schedule than follow the prompts. If a member does not have access to internet a registration form is available at the TFTSN office. All tournament entries must be received in the TFTSN office prior to the stated deadline/closing date. No emailed or faxed tournament entries will be accepted. Many events may be full before the stated deadline. In such situations you will be notified by email if you have been placed on a waiting list as an alternate. TFTSN does NOT confirm your entry by mail or phone, however, online entries will receive an e-mail confirmation of a charge to their credit card after their entry has been accepted.

Does Everyone have to pass a rules test?
YES! Any junior who wishes to play in SNJGA Tour events must pass a rules quiz. Juniors must pass a rules quiz on-line before playing in any event. Each member will be prompted to take the rules quiz when registering for membership into the SNJGA Tour.

It's my first time to a SNJGA Tour Tournament. What do I do?
First of all know when your tee time is. Participants registered for the tournament will receive their starting time approximately 5 days before the event via e-mail. Arrive at the golf course 45 minutes to an hour prior to your stating time. You must register at the registration table and be present at the starting tee 10 minutes before your time. Make sure to have plenty of golf balls, tees, gloves and no more than 14 clubs. Be sure to wear sunblock of 15 SPF or stronger and always carry a water bottle which should be filled frequently.

How do I know my starting time?
Individual starting times for the FIRST Round of competition will be available on our website or by calling TFTSN not more than five (5) days prior to the event. TFTSN is not responsible for wrong starting times given out by the host course. Individual starting times for second (and third) rounds will be available on the website or at each tournament site as soon as possible after the completion of play.

Can I use a caddy?
Caddies may be used in the Match Play portion of Tournament of Champions ONLY. Parents may NOT serve as Caddies and a players caddie must be 22 years of age or younger.
Caddies must abide by all the rules set fourth by TFTSN and the SNJGA Tour. Failure to do so will result in the loss of the match. Players are responsible for themselves and their caddies. According to USGA Rules.

How do I get a handicap?
Handicaps are free to all SNJGA Tour members, 18 years of age or younger, through the Southern Nevada Golf Association.
To establish your handicap, post all scores for rounds played. Maintain your handicap throughout the year by posting all your scores each and every time you play, except when participating in SNJGA Tour events. TFTSN Staff will be responsible for posting all SNJGA Tour Tournament Scores. Please note that due to the length of specific courses played, some tournament scores for the 12 & Under divisions cannot be posted,

Where can I see the results of tournaments?
Tournament scores are posted upon the conclusion of the round on the website, under the "Tournament Central" section. Just click on the event for which you need results information, and then click on the corresponding age division.

Are spectators allowed?
Spectators/Parents, except those volunteers acting in an official capacity, are NOT allowed on the course, in the scoring area or the registration area. Only specific events are designated as spectator events.

    - All Spectators MUST be at least 7 years of age and are asked to adhere to TFTSN dress code
    - Spectators must remain on the cart path at all times or at least 30 yards away from the group if a cart path is not available
    - Spectators must wear a spectator badge. Anyone without a badge will be removed from the course
    - Any contact could be construed as giving advice (Rule 8)
    - Requests to use a golf cart while spectating must be submitted to TFTSN office at least once week (7 days) prior to the event. Requests will be approved if warranted by health or age at the discretion of the host facility
    - Cell phones or other electronic devices are prohibited

Failure to abide by these rules will result in immediate disqualification of the related participant

What determines the age group the junior plays in?
Age groups for all SNJGA Tour events will be determined by the age of the competitor on the stated "Age Group Determination Date" for each event. That is, the age of the child on the last day of Tournament of Champions. Age groups will be as follows except when noted on the tournament entry form:
                                6-8 / 9-10 / 11-12 / 13-14 / 15-18 / 13-18 Butch Harmon Jr. Championship Series

How do I know if I got into a tournament?
TFTSN does NOT confirm your entry by mail or phone, however, online entries will receive e-mail confirmation of a charge to their credit card after their entry has been accepted. Status in the tournament will be available on our website. Juniors whose registration is received after the Closing/Refund Date or after an event is full will be put on a waiting list and notified by e-mail.

How does the waiting list work?
We have two types of waiting lists:
     1. Waiting List Policy
Players will immediately be put on a waiting list once the tournament is full. Players will be placed in the tournament based on the order they were placed on the waiting list and/or if there was a cancelation in their age group.
It is the players responsibility to check the website to see if they have been taken off the waiting list and put into the tournament. The waiting list is on the main Tournament Page for each event.

     2. On-Site Waiting List Policy
If you are still on the waiting list prior to the event, our policy states that you may come to the tournament site the day of the first round. You will be placed on a stand-by list. Please be advised that the stand-by list is formed on a first come-first serve basis. You MUST have already been on the original tournament waiting list for this policy to apply.

How do I withdraw from a tournament?
This policy pertains only to the day of the tournament. To withdraw from an event, including an invitational, notice Must be given to the Tournament Coordinator or TFTSN Staff.
Withdrawing from an event will not affect future tournament play as long as a valid excuse is given. A valid excuse constitutes sickness, injury or an emergency.

Penalties for an Improper Withdrawal are as follows:
1st Offense - Disqualification from the next SNJGA Tour event
2nd Offense - 30 Days SNJGA Tour event suspension
3rd Offense - Tournament suspension for the rest of the 2010 year, including TFTSN Travel Teams.

What if I "No Show" at a tournament?
This policy refers to all competitive rounds of a tournament not just the first round. Failure for a player to cancel from a tournament within 24 hours notice is a violation and will be considered a No-Show. Juniors with a No-Show record will not be eligible to participate on travel teams or in any invitational play.

What is the refund policy?
All entries processed on our secured online payment system with a credit card will receive a refund through our online system applicable to the credit card used in making the transaction. No refunds will be available after the Closing/Refund Date.
The amount of the refund will be the amount originally paid, minus a $5.00 processing fee for cancelations made before the Closing/Refund Date.

How do I qualify for state teams that travel to compete in national tournaments?
TFTSN will select members for 4 Travel Teams to represent Southern Nevada. It is an honor to represent Southern Nevada as a team member and is an experience of a lifetime. The association pays for all expenses for these Travel Teams. For Travel Teams consideration, you must be a SNJGA Tour member in good standings, a Nevada resident, and have not reached your 18th birthday by the final day of competition. Travel Teams are open to juniors who are members of the Butch Harmon Junior Championship Series.  Stroke average in selected events will be used for Travel Teams selection.

Can I volunteer?
Absolutely! The SNJGA Tour relies on the tremendous support of the community and individuals such as yourself, who share a concern for the betterment of the Junior Golf Program. Please call the TFTSN office at (702) 433-0626 and we will be happy to get you involved.
